Daring the Dark Workshop

Now is your chance to invest in your spiritual growth. Bring your nagging spiritual questions to our workshop. Join us as together we work through our own questions over six sessions. We’ll each end with a preliminary answer and a spiritual practice or exercise to try out that answer.

For spiritual leaders and group facilitators…

A letter to spiritual leaders and group facilitators

People today wants religion to prove itself before they adopt it. And, people are asking questions about spirituality and having a hard time finding communities supportive of such exploration. A tool to guide people through their own spiritual questions is uniquely found in the Daring the Dark workbook.

You can use this workbook in your small groups, mental health workshops, Sunday Schools and in congregational study. There is a brief leaders guide at the back of the book. “Group Guidelines” and “Confidentiality Agreement” are included. The workbook is divided into six chapters and can be covered in six, one-hour sessions, for example. Each participant will be led through selecting their own spiritual question for the study.

Daring the Dark is a critical thinking process of working through a spiritual question. The study includes much reflection and research so don’t expect your group participants to all be completed by the end of the study.

If you are going to lead a group study, please review the leaders guide. And please be sure to authentically create a non-judgmental environment where all questions are welcome. I am coming across more and more people who have been hurt by judgmental religious people.

I believe authentic faith cannot be grafted, it must grow from within. This is done through asking questions and seeking answers. If you want to help people who are evolving in their faith or simply considering spirituality for the first time, creating a warm, open-hearted and welcoming environment is critical.

Please feel free to contact me here and I’ll be glad to speak with you by phone to explore how Daring the Dark can help you in your work or ministry.
