Daring the Dark: A Workbook for Exploring Your Evolving Spiritual Questions

Born out of her passion to help others wrestling with spiritual questions, author Annette Miller shares this guide. Using internal exploration and brainstorming, research and critical thinking, you will explore various resources and grapple with potential answers to your spiritual question.

Finally, a process for working through spiritual questions! After reading Daring the Dark, you will gain

  • Clarity on which spiritual questions haunt you

  • Personal peace on the issue of questioning your spirituality

  • Deep insight into your thoughts and feelings about your question

  • Research data from authoritative resources

  • A tentative answer to “try-on”

  • Spiritual practices or exercises to test your answer

  • A plan for building your own supportive team for your growth

My life had recently been so centralized around agonizing spiritual questions that I created this process for myself and others to work through them. The workbook includes deep introspection as well as research of three (or more) resources. These resources are critiqued as to their level of recognized authority and biases. Then there is a step of synthesizing all that into a preliminary answer to "try on." I believe that no one knows it all and that asking questions is healthy and necessary for all of us. The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows. Sydney J. Harris

When I started my life coaching business in 2002, the quote above by Sydney Harris became pivotal in how I described what I did as a coach. I said that the process (education) of self-awareness (mirror) would help my clients create opportunities (windows). To this day, I continue to firmly hold to that belief. Ignorance and denial bring stagnation; awareness and intention bring evolution - in individuals, organizations, nations and the world…
